Nobody plans for the diagnosis.
Nobody plans for the layoff.
Nobody plans for the loss.
But life has a way of throwing us into places we didn’t choose, in seasons we didn’t expect.
And when that happens, it’s easy to ask the question…
Where is God in this?
The Bible is filled with people whose lives didn’t go according to plan:
Joseph was sold by his brothers.
David was chased into caves.
Paul was shipwrecked, beaten, and imprisoned.
None of those things were on their vision boards.
But God used every part of their detour to fulfill His purpose.
Just because it didn’t go your way doesn’t mean God walked away.
Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.”
That includes the things you didn’t plan for.
So what do you do when life doesn’t go as planned?
Refuse to panic.
God is not surprised by what surprised you.Reframe your perspective.
What if this isn’t punishment but preparation?Lean into God’s presence.
He may not have authored the pain, but He’ll redeem every page of the story.
You might not be where you expected, but you’re not abandoned.
God is still writing something beautiful, even when the plot twists feel sharp.
This wasn’t your plan.
But you are still in His hands.
